The cost of living in London has risen sharply in recent years, and for students already stretching every pound, that can mean the difference between staying enrolled and dropping out. In September 2025, the Christos Poullaides Foundation’s gift to the Student Assistance Fund at Imperial College London was recognised in a letter from Linda M. Hindmarsh, Director of Development, University Programmes.
The Student Assistance Fund exists to help students who struggle to make ends meet during their time at Imperial, covering bursaries and emergency payments for unforeseen costs. With the cost of living in London having risen sharply in recent years, the university noted that funds like this allowed students to access support quickly, at the moments they needed it most.
